This week we were blessed with good new music! Major artists are doing collabs everywhere–I’m talking The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, Future and Rihanna, Zedd and Alessia Cara, and more! I could not even add all the amazing collabs on this playlist. I love how artists seem to be working with each other more and more to produce tracks in today’s music landscape, blending all sorts of different genres for unique beats and catchy melodies.
We also have two awesome artists coming through the Bay Area next week that I would definitely recommend checking out! Although I originally thought The Japanese House was a male artist resembling the vocals of the 1975’s Matt Healy, it is female singer-songwriter Amber Bain from London behind the alias. But all started to make sense when I found out that Matt Healy does have production credits on her debut EP Pools to Bathe In, explaining her pop electronica sound, especially in her song “Still.” Catch The Japanese House performing at The Chapel in San Francisco next Wednesday, March 8. Electronic duo Mako will be playing the Social Hall in San Francisco on Thursday, March 9–I was addicted to their song “Smoked Filled Room” two summers ago and still love it!
This week we are featuring an 8th track, "Give Back To You" by the Bay Area’s very own Courtney Glickman! She released her debut EP Paper Thoughts today and it is FIRE! Glickman is a student at UC Berkeley and will be appearing in the Student Musicians column later this week. Make sure to check back to see all that Courtney had to say about navigating school and music in the upcoming article, it’s a fun one!
