Marc E. Bassy took his tour back to his hometown in San Francisco, California on December 6, 2016. The concert seemed to be made as personal as possible in the Brick & Mortar venue. While many have probably seen his concerts in huge venues like the Bill Graham Civic Center as the opener for G-Eazy, it’s interesting to see him making his own rounds, traveling the world, and spreading his unique contemporary R&B music.
At Brick & Mortar, the audience members groove right in front of Bassy, to the point where even fans positioned all the way in the back of the venue can see him very clearly. He grooves with the audience on stage as he reps his Bay Area pride. He would yell shout outs to his mother and family watching at the back of the venue. Bassy even brought out his grandmother’s keyboard and ended the concert with a nice slow jam to his most famous songs “You & Me” and “Morning.”
As a singer and songwriter, Bassy has phenomenal stage presence and crowd control. All throughout the performance, the fans had their hands up and mouths singing to his songs. Bassy would stand off the ledge of the stage and reach for the crowd’s hands. He would have the crowds hands waving back and forth. Most notably, at the end of the concert, he had everyone’s phones up in the air, flashlights shining, illuminating the entire venue and Bassy, himself.
