Pomo, a Canadian DJ and producer, kicked off Wednesday night at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Throughout his set, Pomo transitioned seamlessly between his guitar and keyword producing electronic beats influenced by hip hop sounds. It was the perfect set up for Berhana’s upcoming performance featuring songs of his newest album, “HAN”.

Pomo returned to the stage a little after 10 p.m., ready for Berhana to join him for his performance. The 27-year-old Atlanta musician came out running to the center of the stage and immediately broke started singing ‘G2g’. He paused before jumping into his next song to run to the front of the stage and touch hands with his fans.

The stage was outfitted with a tie-dyed tapestry hanging from the ceiling and falling along the back wall, representative of Berhana’s funky and eclectic album.

Back for the second time performing in Los Angeles, Berhana was comfortable getting the crowd involved during his set. When he sang “Janet”, the whole crowd was clapping in sync with each beat. His energy was infectious - each time he ran across the stage, the crowd cheered even louder and jumped with him.

As Berhana paused in between songs, a fan shouted “You’re doing a great job!” which had for about 30 seconds, the venue was filled with cheers and hollers. Berhana stood at mic smiling, before he began singing “Flasbhack”. Again, he got the crowd involved and had everyone repeat the last word in each lyric.

“I swear I seen you dance,” “dance”
“Was it in Paris, France?” “France”
“Come towards the water, babe” “babe”
“Don't throw your heart away” “away”
“Don't throw your heart away” “away”

When he ended his performance, he gave a shout out to his entire band and thanked them for helping him create the entire HAN album. As a final gesture before exiting the stage after his final song, he threw his hat into the crowd. The night was capped off with his enocure performance of “Grey Luh.”
